Dynamics of Creativity

Creativity is fundamental to human life and culture, yet the mechanisms driving innovation remain elusive. This project aims to illuminate the primary drivers of creativity in music and language by using a combination of simulations and online experiments with human participants. We focus on music and language because they show striking similarities in their structure and cognition, while differing in ways that likely affect the dynamics of creativity.
